Sony Ericsson C905 is an amazing phone with all the good features and latest technology that anyone would expect from a mobile phone. C905 is the first cyber shot mobile from Sony Ericsson with slider form factor. This phone is somewhat heavier than its predecessor (C902), weighing around 136 grams but it gives a solid quality feel. The entire body is made up of high quality plastic and metal which makes it look more expensive than the previous high end mobiles from Sony Ericsson.
The dimensions of C905 are 104 x 49 x 19.5 mm, the thickness is actually 18 mm throughout the body except at the lens region. It is available in 4 beautiful colors – Night Black, Ice Silver, Tender Rose and Copper Gold. Black colour forms the base theme in all these variants, which enhances the beauty of the mobile.
The front panel is very slim and slides smoothly over the bulky part of the phone and when you shut it down it closes with a satisfactory click sound. It hosts the clear 2.4 inches wide TFT screen which can display 256 thousand colours at a maximum resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and right below the screen is the navigation D-pad with 6 keys arranged in two columns on either side of the D–pad. Above the display on either side of the ear piece are the two shortcut keys. The left key is used to see the last picture that was taken and the right one opens the image gallery.
On the rear side of back panel is the mighty 8.2 mega pixel camera. This is the first phone to feature an 8 mega pixel camera. The clarity of the images taken using this phone are comparable to the mid and high end digital camera. Using this camera you can capture an image at a maximum resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels. It captures all the minor details very precisely; the picture looks brilliant even when you print it on a massive A3 sheet hence it should satisfy all your requirements on a tour or day to day activities.
This gigantic 8 MP camera lens is hidden inside the fine brushed metallic protective cover, so that it doesn’t gets damaged accidently. To capture images just scroll the protective cover and the camera is ready to capture great shots. Around the lens there are xenon flash, self portrait mirror, video light and the video microphone. The xenon flash light is very powerful and can assist the lens to capture high clarity images even in dark. The video microphone is a smart inclusion and is used record the high clarity video with good audio quality.
This gigantic camera mobile has a small internal memory of 160 MB, it is not sufficient for storing lot of high clarity images or videos hence you must use an Micro Stick to enlarge the memory. C905 allows you to use memory card as large as up to 8 GB.
This phone is loaded with many connectivity options and supports lot of latest technologies including DLNA, Wi-Fi, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth and so on. It can operate in 3G using HSDPA at 3.6 Mbps and is also compatible with the 2G network, supporting the quad band which allows you to roam all over the world and stay connected.
SE C905 has an in built GPS receiver and the Assisted GPS function. C905 is the first phone in the cyber-shot series to support the A-GPS function, this can be used to Geo tag the images. It also contains the Google maps with Wayfinder Navigator 7 which can guide you to reach a place from one point to other with turn by turn instructions.
Apart from all these hi tech features it also does include all the basic additional features supported by high end mobiles like TV out, TrackID music recognition, Java support, FM radio with RDS and a high quality media player which can play all popular file formats. The standard Li-Po 930 mAh battery offers up to 380 hours of standby time and up to 9 hours of talk time.
