Samsung mobile phones are some of the best in the industry at the moment and this is no exception.
The Samsung M8800 is a new touch screen mobile from Samsung. This phone looks awesome with powerful multimedia capabilities. It provides good grip using the rubber cover around the lens along with the line pattern around all the sides of the phone.
The design and construction of the phone is very consistent, at the bottom on the front view there is a round back button on either sides of this button is the call and end button. At the top there is a video call camera to make video calls, light sensor for adjusting the brightness of the display according to the light in the environment and an earpiece.
The left side of the phone hosts microSD card slot which can hold memory card as large as 8GB, the shortcuts menu key and the hold key used for locking / unlocking the touch screen. On the right side of the phone are the dedicated camera key, gallery key and the volume / zoom control. On the top of the proprietary connectivity port is located and the bottom of the phone has the mouthpiece and the lanyard eyelet. There is no compartment for stylus it is one of the disadvantages of this touch phone.
The backside of the phone has the powerful 8 megapixel autofocus camera which lies under an automatic protective cover when not in use. On either side of this bulged camera are the flash light and the loudspeaker. The LED flash light is not very bright enough for night photography. Hence, you are limited to capture great shots only in day light.
The loudspeaker is intelligently placed near the bulged part of the camera lens. So, you won’t hear the mumbling noise when you place the phone on flat surface while listening to music. The rubber bulge at the bottom of the rear side acts as a proper digicam grip and prevents wobbling of the handset when laid on its back.
The dimensions of this phone are 107.9 x 54.6 x 13.8 mm and weigh around 121 grams. This phone is available only in black colour, the most preferred colour for all gadgets. It has a large 3.2 inches display of Samsung M8800 Pixon is capable of showing up to 256 thousand colours and it sports WQVGA (240 x 400 pixels) resolution. This TFT touch screen has a good accelerometer sensor which detects the rotational motion and changes the orientation of the screen from portrait to landscape or vice versa based on the orientation. The clarity of the screen is excellent even under direct sunlight. The touch screen is very sensitive and offers good response.
The user interface of Samsung M8800 Pixon is really cool. It has lot of widgets, some of them are for fun and others are functional. These widgets are arranged on the left side of the screen which can be revealed or hidden by using a small arrow in the upper left corner. This phone is capable of running java applications in the background while you are busy with some other work.
This phone supports 2G quad band hence you can use this phone all round the world. Moreover it supports 3G and can connect to internet at a maximum speed of 7.2 Mbps. It offers lot of connectivity options except the Wi – Fi. It offers TV out facility so that you can view the photos and videos on a large screen. In short just like the other Samsung mobile phones is worth the investment
