The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has a 3.2 inch touchscreen and the latest S60 interface, especially adapted for touch control. As the XpressMusic name suggests, this is a fantastic music phone. Supporting microSD cards up to 16GB there’s plenty of storage for music and video files. There’s an accelerometer, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio and a TV out port for viewing videos or playing the built-in games on your big screen.
The camera on the Nokia 5800 has 3.2 megapixels and a dual LED flash. This might not sound impressive but it has a high quality Carl Zeiss and that makes all the difference. The LG KC910 Renoir is an 8 megapixel cameraphone with a 3 inch touchscreen and an impressive specification. The camera promises excellent photos with a Schneider Kreuznach lens, xenon flash plus face, smile and blink detection. It can record video at up to 120 frames per second and has a TV out socket and slow motion playback.

It can capture high resolution video at 30 frames per second and it has auto-panarama, image stalisation, smile detection and blink detection. There’s also a secondary video call camera. The Samsung Pixon is a 3G phone with HSDPA support. It has a GPS receiver for geotagging photos but unfortunately there is no Wi-Fi. The 3.2 inch touchscreen uses Samsung’s TouchWiz interface, sensitivity is good and the screen provides haptic feedback.

The same phone is also available with £250 automatic cash back on T-Mobile Combi 30 (12m). Automatic cash back is paid to your account after 40 days and oyu don’t need to claim.
The Nokia 2610 is a capable mobile when it comes to doing what mobiles do best. With a straight-forward keypad layout and simple Nokia menu system it’s a very easy phone to live with. The 2610 weighs just 91g and has an excellent battery life with up to 5 hours talk time and 10-15 days standby.
Although it’s classed as an entry level phone the 2610 looks great and still has a large display with 65,000 colours. It’s also tri-band so you can use it almost anywhere in the world. If you dig deeper into the 2610’s specs you’ll find it has 24 channel polyphonic ringtones and even some MP3 ringtones pre-installed in it’s limited 3MB memory.

The LG Cookie is a touchscreen phone with 3G and a large 3 inch display. Simply press the virtual buttons on screen using your finger. Text can be entered by typing on the QWERTY keyboard which slides into view when needed. Or, with handwriting recognition, you can use the supplied stylus to write on the screen. The LG Cookie has an accelerometer which means the screen automatically rotates depending on which way up the phone is. This is useful when viewing different photos in landscape and portrait mode. The accelerometer is also used to play some of the built-in games.
The camera has 3.2 megapixels and no autofocus. It’s still decent for a budget phone should be adequate for an average user. There’s a good media player, a built-in FM radio and microSD card support up to 8GB. There’s no 3G or Wi-fi, which is a shame as the web browser is actually quite good – but 3G and Wi-fi would have increased the cost and the size. With all other essential features included, it’s no wonder that the Cookie is one of the most popular touchscreen phones.
